The eager students at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education’s School of Business had quite recently attended a summit by the Sharjah Government regarding banking, asset management, FMCG, luxury brands, events management, consulting, and most notably, entrepreneurship.
The Hospitality industry has evolved a lot over the years and one needs to be quite business savvy and have financial acumen to make their mark. Today, it has become a well-established fact that to succeed in the competitive marketplace, a bachelor’s degree is just not enough. The hospitality industry is a broad category of fields within the service industry that includes lodging, event planning, theme parks, transportation, cruise line, traveling and additional fields within the tourism industry.
Factors regarding your conduct and attitude also take a huge hand when it comes to hospitality, as told by a few of the Business and Administration students who were quite pleased with the summit’s turnout and result at the end. The long-hour, high-paced working conditions that come under Hospitality were one of the major talking points post-summit as most of the students of BBA believe that in short, the job angle requires you to be hands-on with a smile on your face throughout the time, which was one of the rather apt descriptions of Hospitality Management.
