A peek inside the working of Cellebrite’s forensic solutions

The forensic students of School of Life Science attended the Dubai Police Cellebrite User Forum: a discussion about cyber forensics on 04th November 2018 between 9 AM to 4.30 PM at the Dubai General Police Headquarters, Al Twar.

It was conducted by two private companies: Cellebrite and Scientific Analytical Tools (SAT), with the support of Dubai Police’s Forensic Department.

The students were presented with a platform for people in the industry and are interested in digital forensics to initiate and engage in discussing and sharing knowledge about the advancements in the vast world of cyber forensics.

Thahseen Badar, a 2nd-year forensic student, said:

“The software they showed us help them to crack locked phones, drones and other devices to recover files that are in the memory. The software are very good and reliable.”

Cellebrite is a company that provides a range of cyber forensic solutions like triage and analytics for police, military and intelligence. The students understood how the police uses evidence that is digital to speed up investigations and information gathering operations. The company showcased their full range of solutions to display the market’s demand for cyber forensics, triage and analytics.

Riya Mattookkaran from the same batch said:

“The forum was basically about the company’s products and how it helps the police to find the criminals through cyber forensics. It has showed us many things we haven’t learned and the huge demand for cyber forensics”

The students got to experience hands-on demonstrations and interactive sessions on Cellebrite’s technology and solutions for cyber forensics.
