From Italian pasta to exotic Lebanese cuisine, a place where distance and time is never a constrain to exploit the wander lust spirits in you, Global Village a place where every travel enthusiasts and street shoppers look forward to visiting ever year. A landmark that has been creating memories for the past two decades for the people belonging to various cultures.

Creation
Global Village is solely that one place that combines different cultures from 90 different countries around the world. It is known to be, the world’s largest tourism, leisure, shopping and entertainment project. Global Village Dubai also happens to be the region’s first cultural, entertainment, family and shopping destination. Over the years, the number of people visiting Global Village has only increased with over 5 million visitors.

Experience
Every year Global Village has some new visitors and some that have been visiting from years before. People coming to visit Global Village, usually come as the gates open because then they get to enjoy and make use of every leisure, entertainment and activities that Global Village offers them. According to the people that come visit this place almost every year, their experience is always a different one.

The best part about this place is how it is set up and decorated, as soon as we went towards the rides my children got even more excited when they saw the new circus that had opened this year!’

Global Village is definitely known for bringing the culture of different countries from around the world at one place, but most of all the things that stand out and leaves a mark in every visitors mind is how each pavilion is set up very true and authentically to its origin.

Highlights of the Pakistan Pavilion

– One of the vendors from the Pakistan pavilion, who not only had an amazing store of footwear called ‘Chadawe’ but was also very kind to spare some of his time and tell us how his store stood out here at global village than outside as a regular store.

– The Pakistan Pavilion hosts a large number of exhibitors showcasing leather goods, cotton fabrics and various traditional items and home accessories.

– This year, the pavilion also features an all new cultural experience zone where you can indulge yourself and learn about Pakistani culture and cuisine.

‘My store attracts more foreigners here at global village and gets them to buy these footwear as these are something made originally in Pakistan, Lahore, which they would not find elsewhere. I have a lot of people ask about the quality of these footwear and they almost don’t believe me when I say it’s all handmade and that each stone and pattern is done by our hands!’

Highlights of The African Pavilion

– A lot of hard work and effort has been put in to making each pavilion look like its origin and represent its country, one of the most beautifully done was Africa.

– The African pavilion represents more than 15 countries and they include: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Senegal, Ghana, Ethiopia, Mauritania, Angola, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Rwanda, Madagascar, Namibia, South Africa and Nigeria.

– One of the most sited things at this pavilion was hand-crafted artifacts. The intricate designs have been made from the best types of woods in the world such as ebony, mahogany, rosewood as well as soapstone.

– One of the vendors from the African pavilion had a very interesting answer to the question we asked, we inquired whether he had come across any funny incidents while doing sales with his customers, and he said, ‘last week a lady was having a look at his artifacts, and she seemed quite interested as well, she would check how strong they were and how the quality was. He instantly began praising his store to her, talking about all the items in his store and which item she should get and what would suit her personality the best, soon after that the lady asked just one question to him, are you single?’ Said Ekon

Highlights of The Turkey Pavilion

When you walk by the Turkey pavilion you instantly can smell the Turkish delights, the Turkish aroma and as well as can’t help but notice the handmade aesthetic items that are put together.

– The Turkey pavilion is one of the first pavilions you would see as you enter global village as it comes near the entrance itself.

– One of the finest and stood out things in this pavilion has ought to be the sets of glass and ceramic homeware with fine Anatolian designs that come in lively colors that truly reflect the country’s epochs in terms of calligraphy and design.
– The Lalali art store specifically stood out the most because it had the most beautiful glass designs and lights and of course the most amount of crowd there too! Anyone who saw that store, just had to at least walk in and check the glass lights and their designs.

– We asked one of the store vendor’s named Asya, on how many years has her store been at global village, to which she replied;

‘its almost been 6 years since I’ve been coming to Dubai for Global Village, every year we carry our finest work pieces and bring it here to global village because everything we sell here has to be the best to represent my country’.

Highlights of The Indian Pavilion

If there has been any pavilion that was almost a replica to its origin, it has got to be the Indian pavilion.

– With more than 300 stalls, the Indian pavilion is one of the top most visited pavilions.

– The pavilion exhibits and sells the most authentic Indian products starting from cotton, silk, chiffon fabrics and traditional leather made sandals, handbags, wallets and accessories!

– The Indian carpet exhibitors are present to express Indian forms and shapes of hand-woven natural silk and fleece, jewelry, cloths and home accessories.

– Right at the entrance of the Indian pavilion is a store filled with authentic Indian accessories like jumkhaas, baalis and so on, all priced at only 5-10 dhs.

– The store vender named Deepak, who flew in from India for the first time said that, the sales and moments that he is experiencing here are unlike any other place. He was not only amused to look at global village for the first time and how big it is but also said how there were many women who were not Indian and yet adored his fine jewelry. He has got so much motivation from coming here and doing so well, that he can’t wait to be back again next year!
