19-year-old School of Business student, scores a T20 double hundred.

Harikrishnan, a 19-year-old  final year student from the school of business has broken into the headlines by scoring a double century. Harikrishnan played for the Sporting Cricket Club and opened the innings in the tournament. He was unbeaten on 208 off 78 balls in the game. His innings against the Machos Cricket Club included 22 boundaries and 14 sixes. He scored 172 runs off 36 balls just in boundaries. This made various clubs look forward to sign him up later.

“Two years ago, when I was only 17, I hit two sixes out of the Sharjah Stadium and it surprised many. “

Harikrishnan said: “I enjoy scoring fast and play powerful shots. I had scored a century for University of Wollongong in the University Premier League in 33 balls. Two years ago, when I was only 17, I hit two sixes out of the Sharjah Stadium and it surprised many. From the beginning I have a dream to play in the Indian Premier League and other franchise leagues. So I train to hit hard and play quick knocks. I have been playing for UAE Under-19 and whenever I have played for college or club, I have played quick knocks.” His team put up 250/3 on the board in 20 overs. However, this target was chased down by the opposition in just 17 overs. Despite Harikrishnan being on the losing side, he was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’. Consistent scores won him a place in the A division Red Flower Tourism team and Web Channel Iktat. He also played for Trivandrum Royals in Malabar Cricket League and has toured Mumbai with Colts Cricket Academy team and Bangladesh for the UAE Falcons team.

Anah, his classmate said that he has also been able to cope up with his studies and doesn’t usually miss classes. He has proved to be an all-rounder throughout the year. Harikrishnan has been consistently piling up regular scores and bagging man of match awards. “I scored two centuries in the last two weeks,” he said.

He has managed to win the best bowler of the year award from inter university tournaments as well. He also had the opportunity to be trained by international cricketers that played in the Afghanistan Premier League.
