ChemFest 2018

Schools from around Dubai attended  ChemFest 2018 that was organised by the School of Engineering and IT, at MAHE, Dubai campus.

This Chemfest was conducted to give a idea about how university education differs from high school and how the life style is at Manipal Dubai. All the students, from Cambridge Dubai, Ambassador School, and Indian High School, who attended were taken to each of the 3 labs and made to do a experiment so that they know the basics of chemical engineering and hows labs differ from school to university. The kind of experiments they work on and the lab reports that have to be written. The three different lab experiments that these students were a part of were; Mass Transfer – conducted by Dr. Vandana Sakhre, Aspen Lab – held by Dr. Simi & Dr. Shadeera, and finally Chemistry Lab – conducted by – Mr. Manoj.

Post lab sessions every student wrote a 25 minute multiple choice exam to test their understanding towards the experiments they conducted. Dr. Kota Reddy, dean of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dubai gave a few words regarding admission in Manipal and its future plans. All activities that are conducted during the year and what the students should expect from our institution were furnished.

Everyone who scores really well on these 25 minute multiple choice tests were eligible for up to a 40% scholarship if they wish to pursue their higher education with Manipal, Dubai. Everyone received a welcome hamper.
