Business Module conducted for Engineering Students

Manipal Academy of Higher Education held a business module workshop which was conducted by Mr Shazin Shahabudeen.

Mr Shazin boasts a background of having being associated with various international organizations. Along with having over 10 years of experience in Strategy Management, Corporate Restructuring and Business Development, Mr Shazin has set out his current venture in ‘Ghobash Investments’.

His background of international organizations include those of Samsung, Hyundai, Wrigley’s and more.
The business module was attended by the students of Civil Engineering and the School of Engineering and Information Technology.

Students from 2nd, 3rd and 4th year of Civil Engineering attended this workshop on the 16th of October.

Engineering students aren’t taught how to understand the way an organization functions, nor are they aware of the exposure and importance of the business world.
However; final year students of Engineering found themselves in a lucky spot as they have ‘Business Studies’ as one of their electives and so, attended this workshop with a broad and inquisitive mind.
The module helped them understand and immerse themselves in way a business organization would work. From hiccups in the field to advantages in business organizations, Mr Shazin talked about established businesses and start-up ventures.
What is a workshop without it being an interactive one?
The students were given various scenarios and each had to come up with an effective business module on ways to tackle the scenario.
Opportunities don’t come by too often and the students felt glad upon coming to a realization with the fact that they could use this knowledge in the outside world and apply it to their daily lives as well.
